Community Builders
Every two weeks there will be an opportunity to acknowledge on of your peers who is doing a good job in working to build community within the class because of how they're showing up to each class, how they're participating in discussions, and the work they're doing.
I'll acknowledge the first Community Builder, but after that the previous person acknowledged is responsible for picking the next community builder. Here are some things to consider as you are choosing who you will be nominating.
- Please consider who has and has not been recognized. You can do that by looking at this tracker. Go to your classes tab to find a list of folks who have been named community builders. There's a tally and it's color-coded. Ultimately, it's your call.
- Green is a good nomination
- Yellow is maybe one you should reconsidered
- Red is one you should really reconsider.
- Once you've selected your person, be sure to prepare a spiel to explain why they are deserving. In your spiel be sure to explain/share:
- How they have worked to build community recently.
- Get specific. What have they done in class, in discussion, in their work. Use the links below to help ground your reasoning.
- Provide short anecdotes, examples, or explanation about why they're nominated.
- As I mentioned above, two things you might consider are their role in discussions and their work, potentially creative. Below are links to Introduction to Discussions and Introduction to Creativity. You don't need to use them, but they might help in providing framing.
Thanks for being thoughtful in your recogonition.
